February is American Heart Month

Whether you are a hospital, school or business, promotional products can be a great way to make health and wellness information more engaging and when taken home, can serve as an important reminder to make heart-heathy choices all year.

  1. Wear Red on National Wear Red Day

Wearing red on National Wear Red Day (which takes place this year on February 3, 2017) is a great way to show your support for the cause and get the word out. Custom imprinted hats and t-shirts make great giveaways at schools, awareness events, health fairs and at the office to promote heart-healthy habits.

  1. Build in Fitness Breaks

Encourage stretching, walking and yoga breaks at the office and at school to increase physical activity among students and employees. Give out prizes as incentives, such as a stickers and balloons and send them home with a heart-shaped hot/cold pack that they can use all year.

  1. Have a Healthy Heart Day at School or at The Office

Designate one day in February to focus on ways to maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle. Provide healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, and invite a nurse or nutritionist to speak about ways to make better choices in the new year. Set up tables and other displays to promote your messages.

  1. Schedule a Health Screening

Invite a fitness or medical professional into the office to provide free health screenings and offer advice on how to make healthy changes. Add some fun by giving out water bottles, stress balls or heart-shaped spinners to participants.

  1. Create Your Own Contest

Motivate students and employees to exercise and eat healthy by designing a contest. Have a jump roping, walking or healthy-eating challenge and reward participants with a heart-themed pen or a key-tag.
